“Love. Love isn’t having butterflies all the time, I think love is calm. Love is comfortable. I could sit in silence with you for the rest of our lives and it would mean more than a thousand words with anyone else.”
Not many of my clients have known each other since they were in Elementary school, but that’s exactly how long Katrina and Steven have known each other! Of course, it would be many years before they realized they had a connection that would take them through the rest of their lives, but Grade 3 is where their story started. Steven being the instigator back then decided kicking the back of Katrina’s chair would be the best approach to get Katrina’s attention.. and apparently it worked! (For a while)
After Grade 3 they parted ways for several years to attend different schools, but they found themselves back together again at FHS. Even though they thought they might have a “thing” they were hesitant to let their friends in on their little secret…. What if it didn’t work out? How could they continue being friends with the same people if it didn’t?
I guess that’s all water under the bridge, because I’m pretty sure everyone knows now!
Fast forward to the Saturday that Katrina and Steven set for their wedding date. Little did they know that it was going to be a day that the skies opened and the rain just wouldn’t let up!…They could have let the rain dampen their spirits, but not them! They took it all in stride, made some tough decisions, and adjusted their plans to fit the day. The guests were all dry inside when they said their vows, and they were even convinced to step outside briefly for a quick group photo! Later in the day, when the rain finally let up we were able to get down by the Lake to get a few shots before the reception.
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and if thats the truth, Katrina and Steven have a LOT of goodness coming their way! It was an absolute treat to be part of their day, and I can’ wait to share some of their photos with you!
